Created alongside Green Belts 2.0, this collage is a personal synthesis of insights gathered through researching multifunctional green belts across multiple continents.
Rather than depicting an existing place, it assembles fragments of forests, wetlands, productive farmland, rivers and urban fabric into a speculative landscape where biodiversity, food production, water management, recreation and urban development are understood as complementary systems rather than competing land uses.
Rather than proposing a masterplan for a particular city, the collage reflects an evolving way of thinking about green belts. Through this research, I have come to see them not as fixed boundaries around cities, but as living landscapes that integrate ecology, production and public life.
